Meet our team

Curt began his career in finance more than three decades ago, upon graduating with his MBA from Dalhousie University.   His career led him to a senior trading position with an international investment bank based in London, England focused on institutional fixed income.  Upon returning to Halifax in 2010, he started as a Wealth Advisor at ScotiaMcLeod.

Over the past ten years, the practice has evolved into the Hussey Gregson Fitzpatrick Group, a Total Wealth Management offering that includes portfolio management, financial planning, insurance, and estate services.

Curt is passionate about markets and focuses on asset allocation, strategy, and mentoring his growing team. He along with his associates strive to offer a superior personalized wealth management solution to help clients realize goals for themselves and their future generations.

Curt comes from rural Cape Breton, has lived throughout Canada and in Europe.  He currently resides in Halifax with his family.

A second-generation Certified Financial Planner, Sarah enjoys building meaningful relationships with her clients that are grounded in integrity and trust. Sarah oversees the creation of customized wealth plans that are centred on each family’s dream for their future, including strategies to address real-world concerns and conflicts to keep clients’ savings safe.

Sarah’s comprehensive process is rooted in deep, transparent discussions about what’s important in your life, to clarify your goals and help you grow your wealth. Coupled with diligent investment management, Sarah’s aim is to make sure you feel confident and secure about your financial future.

In addition to her financial planning credentials, Sarah holds the prestigious Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and is a licensed insurance advisor. She studied at Dalhousie University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Management degree, customized with a focus on economics.

Born and raised on BC’s Howe Sound, Sarah grew up in and on the water. Her spare time is spent outdoors – particularly hiking and swimming all year round. Sarah is a passionate traveler, preferring destinations that offer unique experiences and perspectives. To that end, she has also hosted dozens of travelers at her home in Halifax, keen to share our beautiful province with those lucky enough to visit.

Alex was born and raised in the community of Souris, Prince Edward Island. He graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Life Science Specialization. Throughout his time at UPEI Alex developed a keen interest in financial markets and in 2016 moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Mary’s University. Alex completed his MBA with a concentration in finance and was voted MBA Student of the Year by his peers upon graduation from the Sobey School of Business.

Alex started his career at Scotia Wealth Management in the prestigious Wealth Management Associate Program. Through his training, Alex was able to gain meaningful experience and exposure to all business lines within Scotia Wealth Management and was fortunate to start a career at ScotiaMcLeod upon program completion.

Alex has since gone on to become a partner in the Hussey Gregson Fitzpatrick Group, where he has returned to his roots; helping hardworking fishing and farming families grow and maintain their wealth. Alex takes pride in providing a high level of service, and dedication to his clients, and brings an intimate knowledge of these industries to the table.

Jennifer began her career with The Bank of Nova Scotia nearly two decades ago, after completing her degree in Health Sciences and French at Western University in London, Ontario. She spent several years at the London Scotia Wealth Management office, before moving to Halifax with her husband and two children in 2013. Jennifer joined the Hussey Gregson Fitzpatrick Group in 2014 and is pleased to be part of a wonderful team. She is licensed to execute orders from clients, having obtained her WME, CPH, and CSC. Jennifer is one of your points of contact when it comes to documentation, order execution, and any other general inquiries.

Jennifer is known for her warm service and genuine care for the clients she works with.  She enjoys spending time outside and exploring Nova Scotia with her young, active family.

Shauna joined the Hussey Gregson Fitzpatrick Group in 2020 and brings nearly 25 years of client service and administration experience to the team. Shauna takes pride in ensuring the level of service and continuity clients deserve is delivered reliably. In addition, she manages many areas of the team’s administration, specifically ensuring clients’ accounts are up to date and running efficiently.

Born and raised in the small community of Kennetcook, Nova Scotia, Shauna began her career in financial services at The Bank of Nova Scotia after graduating with a diploma in Business Information and Technology from Nova Scotia Community College. Shauna has also completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook from the Canadian Securities Institute.

When not in the office, Shauna enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her son.
